Gracie's Adventures in Yoga*Land: Where Everything is Pink AND Perfect: Episode 32

Episode 32

"Now try to perform the Cobra yourself, my dear child, so I can make any corrections", Bhujangayina instructed. Gracie, being a fast learner and a good student, followed every point to the "T", performing the Cobra perfectly but to her amazement, once again the X-17 Deluxe Yoga Mat, was up and flying and through the Pink Time Tunnel, its running lights shining brightly. Gracie hung on to the edges even though she was promised that it was impossible to fall off. Swirling and whirling through time, Gracie had no idea of where she was headed. Just a few seconds later, she landed with a disorienting thud. Where was she? This didn't look like any place she had ever seen in any history book, news report or storybook for that matter. Gaining a grip on reality she could see that she was in a clearing, in the middle of a huge battleground. In front of her were hundreds of warriors with bows and arrows and shields. Behind her was another large group of warriors all armed with bows and arrows and shields. Of course, they were all pink of one color or another. When she looked down and at her immediate whereabouts, she found that she was sitting in an ancient gold chariot, and sitting next to her were two men, speaking in a language she could not understand. Quickly she took out some pink glitter and sprinkled it over her left hand. Her pink 3D Yoga*Phone appeared and Gracie pushed the "?" as quickly as possible. It was Lord Ganesha himself who answered with a jolly "Hello Gracie". "NamasteJi Lord Ganesha. I'm somewhere where I can't understand the language", she replied. "Not to worry, my child. Sending you necessary data now, just push the YLS button, it's your Yoga Locating System. It will tell me where you are", Lord Ganesha reasured her. Gracie followed the instructions to the letter pushing on the button when it appeared. Within seconds, the letter "L" appeared. "Now push on the "L" and you'll instantly be able to communicate. You are in ancient India at the center of the most famous and important battle of all time. A battle of the good forces over bad forces. They are speaking Sanskrit. Goodbye for now my child", Lord Ganesha said and then his transmission ended. Gracie quickly pushed the "L" button and could suddenly understand her two companions. To be continued

Sending you a little Yoga Bling,

Acharya Sri Khadi Madama
Author: Speaker: Visionary
Recipient of the Jewel Of India Award
TV Host of Yours Truly, Yoga
Yoga Creations for Media
732-341-1657
Visit www.yourstrulyyogatv.com
Author of "Finding Shangri La: Seven Yoga
Principles for Creating Success & Happiness
www.facebook.com/yogacelebrity

www.twitter.com/yogacelebrityhttp://totyoga.com

The Yoga Diva On The Flying Carpet

Gracie's Adventures in Yoga*Land: Where Everything is Pink AND Perfect: Episode 31

Episode 31

From the Diamond Pose, breathe in through your nose, bringing your hands up over head until your palms come together. As you exhale, slowly bring your hands down to your heart at the center of your chest. This brings the energy into the center line of your body and right into your heart. Inhale again and as you exhale, place the palms of your hands flat onto the floor as you slide all the way forward, until your body is outstretched. Bring your hands, palms down along side of your shoulders and make sure to keep your toes overlapped so that the energy will continue to circulate around your body. Remember, Gracie, that where your eyes go, your energy will be directed. This forms the foundation to practice the Cobra Pose. The Cobra is a very powerful pose and has many secrets. I should know because it's my own personal pose. In fact, all of the animal poses of the Divine Beings in Yoga*Land have their own secrets that are revealed to the practitioner. Some are inner secret powers and some are individual gifts to the Yoga student along the path. Now with your forehead touching the floor, imagine that you are as great and wise and beautiful and powerful a snake as me. Start to bring your head carefully backwards, inhaling slowly, and using your forearms to support your back, as you bend backwards to look up at the ceiling, until your head is all the way back. Your elbows will be about 1-3 inches off the ground and your tummy will be resting on the ground. When you are in place, exhale, then maintain the pose for about 3 deep breaths. On the last exhalation, begin to let yourself down and keep your mind centered on your spine. Bring your chin down to the mat to realign the spine upon landing, and then turn your head to one side and rest, breathing until your heartbeat is back to normal. The benefits of the Diamond Pose are many, but they will be covered when you meet Samsanga Raja, king of all the rabbits and hares. For now, it is more important for you understand the great power of learning to perfect the Cobra. The Cobra opens up true wisdom because it irrigates the spinal cord, allowing for clean blood to flow up into the brain. The Cobra also teaches patience, gracefullness, focused vision, stillness and stealth. Truly these are useful and powerful traits. It is good for digestion and upper body strength and increasing beauty, as you can see just by looking at me". The huge pink snake sweetly said with a very sweet smile. Gracie had to admit to herself that Bhujangayina was truly a beautiful sight once you got used to her.

To be continued

Installments of Gracie's Adventures will appear weekly.
Gracie's Adventures in Yoga*Land: Where Everything is PINK and Perfect: Episode 30

Chapter 4

"I am also the most powerful!", Bhujangayina exclaimed. "Did you rest well after your return from Yoga*Land? Gracie, unable to utter a single word, simply nodded her head with a "Yes". "It does take a little getting used to going through the portal, my dear child, but you shall", spoke the huge pink bejeweled and turbaned snake.

"Today you're going to learn how to perform Bhujanasana, the pose of the Cobra. Please approach your Yoga mat and let's begin". Gracie perfectly stepped onto the mat as she had been taught. She offered a "Namaskar" to Lord Vishnu, who's back she was just about to step onto, in a manner of speaking and said she was sorry for waking him up, for Lord Vishnu sleeps in every space and his sleep must be respected. Assuming Tadasana, Gracie waited for Bhujangayina to give instructions. "First I shall teach you Vajrasana, the Diamond Pose. It is also sometimes called the Thunderbolt Pose, so remember this Gracie, in the event that you should ever need a thunderbolt in an emergency. I am teaching you Diamond Pose first because it is similiar in use to Tadasana. Both serve as basic opening poses. One for standing poses and the other for most of the seating or laying down poses." She explained. Gracie was very excited that she would learn a pose that could actually cause a thunderbolt to occur. To her this was very Pink! "For Diamond Pose, sit on your heels, knees close together. Make sure that your heels are opened outward with your right big toe overlapping your left big toe. Hands resting on your thighs just above your knees. And, keep your back straight. Let your body settle down in between your heels." Gracie had a look on her face that let Bhujangayina know that she wondered about what was so important about the right big toe to be overlapping the left big toe, so she asked. "It's to keep rogue elephants from stampeding through, you know!" This still did not remove the strange look on Gracie's face, looking ever more dumbstruck. "Well, my child, you don't see any here do you?" Bhujangayina asked. Gracie nodded her head to indicate a "No". "See? It works every time",Bhujangayina replied. "

all episodes of this blog are protected by copyright 2012-2013

Installments of Gracie's Adventures will appear weekly.
Gracie's Adventures in Yoga*Land: Where Everything is Pink AND Perfect

Episode 29
When Gracie awoke, she found that she was laying on top of her bed, on top of the X17 Deluxe Yoga Mat. She awoke because the phone was ringing again. Not the little mobile phone but the other phone, the one that was from the 1950’s, the pink Princess phone. The one that was in the closet. At least it was whenever it needed to ring. It was NOT there whenever Gracie tried to find it on purpose, but she had since given up trying to make any sense out of any of the non-sense that seemed to have taken over her life since the pink glitter first appeared. She jumped out of bed, dove into the closet and answered the phone with a “Good Morning, Namaste Ji, this is Gracie”. The beautiful voice on the other end was none other than Muriel reminding Gracie that it was still early enough for her to bathe and have breakfast with her mother before heading off for school and that she would be visited by another Divine Being from Hiranyaloka. A month ago, Gracie would have been startled out of her common sense. But at this point in time, Gracie happily accepted that there wasn’t much common sense going on in her life. She heard her mother calling for breakfast in 15 minutes, so she washed and dressed and flew down the stairs to join her mother, where she found a delicious breakfast and her mother, cheerful as always. They hugged good morning and ate together sharing news. Gracie was able to show an A+ on her Titanic report and her mother was able to tell her good news from family members, who called in late last night while Gracie was sleeping. After clearing the breakfast dishes, they hugged goodbye for the day making plans to watch a movie together after Gracie's homework was finished. Because she got an A+, Gracie was going to get to pick out the movie, so she had to give a lot of thought to it.Entering back into her room to collect her X17 Deluxe Yoga Mat and her backpack, Gracie did a double take on what she saw, for right in front of her was a huge pink snake wearing a gold turban on its head with a pink jewel in the center of the turban. The snake was so big that it's body was curled up 4 feet high and took up almost half of what was left of the floor of Gracie's room, except that it was sitting inside a huge basket. The kind of basket usually seen in pictures of snake charmers. Next to it on the floor was a shiny silver saucer of pink milk with pats of pink butter floating in it. Gracie backed right up into the wall at the sight of this new visitor, but when it spoke, it had a very sweet female voice, introducing herself and saying "Good Morning Little One, I'm Bhujangyina Deva, the Queen, wisest, and kindest of all of the snakes". Bhujangyina then gracefully stretched her body down to the saucer and drank some milk and butter. to be continuedInstallments of Gracie's Adventures will appear weekly.
Gracie's Adventures in Yoga*Land: Where Everything is Pink AND Perfect:Episode 28

Episode 28

Inside the pink house, Gracie and Lord Ganesha, and of course the tiny pink talking wonder Musika, sitting on her left shoulder, found themselves in an exotic parlor decorated like something out of the Arabian Nights. Pillows of all sizes, shapes and colors of pink were available for sitting, laying down, propping up or cushioning elbows around a round golden table all carved with exotic designs. Tea was piping hot and available to be served from a shiny, delicately carved silver tea pot in the shape of an elephant. Each tea cup had an elephant engraved on it as well. And the tea? The tea was pink, of course.Ganesha wanted to know more about Gracie, and Gracie wanted to know more about Yoga*Land and the Yoga Studio. "Well, Gracie, the Yoga studio isn't what you think it is. For you it is a portal to Yoga*Land" Ganesha explained. "What about for others. Does it really exist?", Gracie asked. Ganesha had just finished popping a tiny pink tea cake made of an Indian cheese known as Paneer and made with butter and natural sugar. Gobbling it down quickly, he replied "For you it is a portal to Yoga*Land, as I said earlier. But to others, it's just a very nice Yoga school with very nice Yoga instructors". Gracie quickly gobbled down her own pink tea cake and asked more questions. "But I'm just an average girl, from an average family, living with my mother in an average home. Why would I be able to have such an extraordinary experience?" She questioned. "Because you are an average girl, living an average ordinary life in an extraordinary way. Because, my child, you have vision and courage and a desire to see so more deeply into the hearts of things. That's why Yoga*Land became visible to you", Ganesha told her. "And because in your heart you are dedicated to making the world a better place, to right wrongs and to keep a faith that somehow things can and will turn out better. This is why the portal opened to you". Musika began jumping up and down on Gracie's shoulder and clapping his tiny paws, before jumping down to the table to get his own tiny pink tea cake. "I just love to celebrate happy things", the little mouse said. He took a sip from one of the cups, and then curled up on one of the softest pillows to fall asleep, his little tummy bulging full of tea and cake. Gracie and Ganesha talked on for what seemed hours. During that time, Ganesha learned that Gracie had wanted to be a ballerina, but because her father was still missing in action and there wasn't much money for classes, it would not be possible. She loved taking classes before she had arrived in Plainville. "Someday, I'll be able to be a ballerina and maybe even design clothing or be an interior decorator so that everyone can live in beautiful clothes and homes", she wistfully sighed. "That is very admirable, my dear. And I'm certain that you will", Ganesha said very genuinely and sweetly. Gracie suddenly seemed very drowsy and found herself toppling over onto one of the overstuffed soft cushions and falling off to sleep, herself.
to be continued Installments of Gracie's Adventures will appear weekly.
Gracie's Adventures in Yoga*Land: Where Everything is PINK & Perfect

Episode 27

"This is all new to me. I can't figure out what to do. I mean, I've put this tiny little house together, but it's too small to live in. It's even too small to furnish, let alone decorate and I can't understand how it will get big enough for me to go inside. Will I have to shrink down to one inch tall?", Gracie asked looking very puzzled and holding the tiny pink house in the palm of her hand. Musika, now sitting atop her head wrapped his tail around the barrette Gracie discovered was in her hair and once again hung down upside down in between her eyes, which crossed until she was dizzie, explaining to her that things kind of happened differently in Yoga*Land and not to worry about anything because, after all, in Yoga*Land everything is PINK and perfect. That being said she was then told to turn the tab in the book that said "Furniture", so that she could pick out whatever she liked, which of course, she did. She picked out amazing furniture that looked like it came from the Arabian nights with lots of pillows and lanterns. In the "Decorating" section of the catalog she choose what colors and patterns she wanted on the walls and windows. Colors meaning, which shades of pink and matching accents, These seemed to be available in gold, silver, and slight shades of pinkish purple. "All done and good choices, too", said Ganehsa. "Now to get it all there in time for tea. Before we can do that however, you must choose where you want to live. Please turn to the section that says "Properties". Gracie did so and looked up the name of the street where she felt would be perfect for her, Pink Elephant Lane. Next, Ganseha put out one of his six hands and then appeared a long wand that looked a little bit like a branch. On its top it had a star and in the middle of the star was a pink gem that looked like the pink gem in the center of Gracie's holographic mobile YogaPhone. Ganesha handed it to her and said "Gracie, I give this magical staff to you. It has been handed down from the Masters of the Astral Planet Hiranyaloka for your use. You can use it to travel or to manifest what you need, but you must never use it unless your heart is pure. Now say the words 'Dera Dandha Uthao' and we shall be off to your new home." She did exactly as she was instructed, being careful to repeat the new words, which Ganesha explained meant 'Let us take up our staff and go'. Instantly she found herself, Ganesha and Musika, still sitting atop her head, in the middle of her living room in the pink house on Pink Elephant Lane.

to be continued

Installments of Gracie's Adventures will appear weekly.
Gracie's Adventures in Yoga*Land: Where Everything is Pink AND Perfect: Episode 26

Episode 26

Gracie couldn't believe her eyes. The closest thing that she could relate to when looking around the streets of Yoga*Land, was her favorite childhood game, Candy Land, except that in the game there were many colors. In Yoga*Land, everything was pink. There were gold and silver accents, but pretty much, things were definitely pink. What amazed Gracie was that she wasn't wearing pink when she was back in her room, before they left. She was wearing lemon yellow pajamas which had somehow been transformed into pink pajamas. Ganesha explained that the word 'pajama' was actually an old Persian word that came into the Hindi/Urdu languages, meaning a garment that is worn on the legs. Gracie's yellow pajamas had turned color to not only a nice pale pink, but had become quite exotic, looking like the clothing she had often seen worn by people from India. Ganesha explained further that Yogi's wear pajamas to practice Yoga so as to allow free movement, and Gracie had to admit that her Yoga*Land pajamas were certainly more comfortable than the ones she was wearing before she and Ganesha flew out of sight down the pink tunnel to Yoga*Land. A few moments later she found herself inside the Catalog Shoppe, was invited to sit on a pink cushioned stool at a pink counter and handed a delicious glass of pink lemonade. She turned the tab that read 'Houses'. There were so many houses from which to choose. Round ones, square ones, ones that looked like bird cages; pagodas; tree houses; cupcakes-yes, there was a house that looked like a cupcake; Victorian houses; castles; shoes (like in the fairytale). It took quite a while, so she was grateful for the lemonade and also relieved that Ganesha had loads of patience. Finally, on page 313, she found it. The house that she had often seen in her dreams. It was a standard two story house, with hearts and crystals and ribbons. And in the picture was Musika perched on the roof eating a piece of pink cheese. The minute Gracie saw it, she pointed to it and said, "This is it!" In a flash, Musika jumped out of the picture and onto Gracie's left shoulder. "Good choice my dear", the little mouse said. "I had a feeling that would be the one so I just waited for you." Gracie would never get used to the fact that the little mouse could just turn up anywhere. Ganesha clapped his hands, all six of them, to call the attendant. "Gracie will take this house." He politely ordered. And in two minutes out came the attendant with a small package. It contained all of the pieces for Gracie's house, except that it was very small. "Go ahead, put it together. All of the parts are there, and you can furnish it and decide where you want it to go when you're finished", Ganesha assured her because she had quite a quizzical look on her face.

to be continued.........

Installments of Gracie's Adventures will appear weekly.
Gracie's Adventures in Yoga*Land: Where Everything is Pink AND Perfect: Episode 25

Episode 25

Before her very eyes, a pink tunnel opened up in the wall of Gracie's room. Looking into it, Gracie could see that it was a winding pink tunnel of foggy haze. It wasn't long before Gracie began to feel the X-17 accelerate in vibrational velocity and then in an instant, the X-17, along with its running lights and Gracie on top, was gone, disappeared down the pink time tunnel like a flash. When Gracie emerged from the tunnel a vew moments later she was once again covered in pink glitter like she was the first time she saw the glitter on the sidewalk near the alley where the yoga studio was located. Feeling a little woozy, it was Musika, jumping onto her head, then hanging down over her forehead upside down to look her in the eyes to assure her that she was safe and sound and had survived her first landing into Yoga*Land. As her eyes came into focus, Gracie could see that everything in Yoga*Land was pink. Although she could discern that there certainly were shades of pink. She had no idea that there could be this many variations of pink. It was most deffinately a happy looking place. There were buildings and trees and clouds in the sky and cars and just about anything else that anyone could imagine, except that they were all one shade of pink or another. Gracie recognized the jolly sound of Ganesha's laugh. Carefully stepping down off of the X-17, which was floating mid-air about a foot above the ground with it's running lights still shining, she stood to present herself in front of the elephant headed and kind Lord Ganesha, who welcomed her to Yoga*Land with "Namaste Gracie Ji", his six arms all joined together in the Pronam position. Gracie responded with a slight bow and asked what those words meant. "Basically Namaste means that my inner being is bowing humbly to your inner being. The word Ji, is added to show more respect", Ganesha explained. "These words are used to greet each other here in Yoga*Land and should be used when addressing those on the Sadhana, or Yoga Path even when one is not in Yoga*Land". "Then, Namaste Ganesha Ji to you, Gracie replied, placing her hands in the Pronam position also. "I have brought you here today because it is time for you to pick out your house so that when you are here, you have your own place to live", Ganesha told her. "We'll just hop back onto the X-17 and fly on over to the Yoga*Land Catalog Shoppe so that you can pick one out". When the very plump Ganesha leaped onto the X-17, his great round body cause it to rock back and forth so much that Gracie thought they would tip right off, but Ganesha assured her that no one ever fell off of fully Vashtu-ed Yoga mats. At least there is nothing in the history of Yoga*Land to suggest that such an event had every happened. To be continued

Installments of Gracie's Adventures will appear weekly.
Gracie's Adventures in Yoga*Land: Where Everything is Pink AND Perfect

Episode 24

Two mornings later, after a couple of quiet, uneventful days, Gracie awoke to a woman's voice. It was not her mothers, because the woman's voice, which was very beautiful had a beautiful Indian accent. Opening one eye only, because she was very sleepy, she gazed around the room in the direction of the voice. It was coming from a vintage television set. Gracie recognized it to be similiar to the kinds of televisions that she would sometimes see in old movies that her mother was watching, as she walked past the living room. Except that this one was pink. And the person on the screen was the beautiful Goddess Laksmi, announcing that it was time for Gracie to do some Yoga. Of course, Gracie didn't own a pink vintage television and even if she did, it wouldn't work now that the airwaves were no longer analog. Then Gracie remembered that this was the magic of Yoga*Land, which didn't rely on the science of gravity, linear time, material reality or anything else she'd ever learned in science class. Quickly she washed up and took the X-17 out of out of her sweatjacket pocket, flipping it open to full size and then properly placing the palms of her hands together and assuming the Tadasana pose, asking for permission from the grand and wonderful Lord Vishnu before stepping onto it. She took a deep breath and began to sit onto the X-17, when all of a sudden, it began to light up around the edges. It had never done this before. It looked like it had runway lights and it began to vibrate. In seconds, it began to lift up off the floor. She could hear Goddess Lakshmi's voice calling to her to hold on tight. "Where am I going?" Gracie called back. "To Yoga*Land", she heard Lakshmi's voice answer.

To be continued

Installments of Gracie's Adventures will appear weekly.
